About My Work
I currently work within a international research group on 'La ville informelle au 20e siècle. Politiques urbaines et administration des populations' ( This project seeks to: (1) observe how the various categories relating to the informal city have been constructed, in dialogue with normative development; (2) explore the ways in which different states have administered the poor migrant populations living in these neighbourhoods, through public policies targeting these populations; and, lastly, (3) study the different actors involved in this relationship between state and individuals, and in particular the diverse milieu of social workers, engaged professionals and activists involved in action in shanty towns.
I am also really interested in methodological issues about the development of a global urban history.
