About My Work
Monika Bočková is an architect and architectural historian, currently serving as a researcher at the Department of Architecture, Institute of History, Slovak Academy of Sciences. She completed her doctoral research at the Slovak University of Technology, focusing on "The Planned River: The Relationship between the Danube and Bratislava in the Context of Urban Planning from the 18th Century to the Present."
Her research focuses on the urban and environmental history of the modern era, 20th-century architecture, and critical discourses surrounding contemporary architecture and urban development. She is the co-author of several publications, including Bratislava (Un)Planned City (2020), Yearbook of Slovak Architecture (2020), and 101: Slovak Architecture (2024).
